As a popular Sri Lanka rent a car service provider, Malkey Rent A Car (Pvt) Ltd. extends its support towards numerous worthy causes. The company works with a number of social service organisations.
Water Supply Project
The company was involved with the sponsoring and the provision of logistical support to Colombo Rotary Club projects aimed at providing drinking water to remote schools in Sri Lanka. Schools in Anamaduwa and Anuradhapura areas received water filtration systems and pumps operated by solar energy or agricultural tractors commonly found in these areas.
Drive for the Elders
The drive for the elders started off from the Gamini Matha Home for the Elders in Colombo-02 with the intention of raising funds for the home as well as to provide an enjoyable day out to its residents. The elders were treated to a reminiscing ride around the city in vehicles they grew up with followed by a traditional Sri Lankan lunch. The funds raised went towards new signage for the home, the supply of provisions for the home and ‘care packs’ for the elders. Popular classics such as the Morris Minor and the Austin A40 were sought after with most members having fond memories with regard to these models.
Gamini Matha Home for Elders is under 5 minutes away from all the Colombo city hotels and can be reached at: 177, Sir James Pieris Mawatha, Colombo 2.
